Experienced Line Cook

As a member of our kitchen staff, your consistency, speed, and efficiency are essential to the smooth operation of our restaurant and the satisfaction of our guests. We hire only those with solid experience, varied knowledge, and a passion for delivering absolute quality dishes.
We seek a self-motivated line cook who can handle a fast-paced environment. Must be able to execute tickets in an orderly fashion and at speed. Must be able to read English and follow recipes. You must be able to prep food accurately and clean your work environment.

Responsibilities:
– Set up and have the line ready for service
– Prepare a variety of foods: meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
– Arrange sauces and supplementary garnishes for the allocated station
– Cover, date, and correctly store all food items
– Notify Chef in advance of likely shortages
– Serve menu items compliant with established standards
– Close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
– Maintain sanitary work area at all times
– Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately
– Constantly use safe and hygienic food-handling practices

Qualifications
– Ability to lift 50lbs
– Solid knife and accurate knife and grill skills
– Minimum ten years of working experience as a line cook
– Formal Culinary Education preferred but not required
– Previous experience at a British/Irish pub preferred but not required
– Strong communication is essential, both verbal and written
– Fluent in English is required
– Current food handler’s Certification (California)
– Current Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (California)

Job Type: Full-time/Part Time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour, a higher rate is BOE
Shift: 8-hour shift. Evening/Night shifts
Expected hours: 30-40 per week
Shift: 6-8-hour shifts. Must be available for day & night shifts
