Kitchen Manager

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager / Lead Line Cook with effective leadership and training ability. This role requires experience in managing all kitchen functions, including but not limited to food purchasing, receiving, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards, budget requirements, safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and training new kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
-Ensure that food is consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portions, cooking, and serving standards.
-Ensure accurate purchasing and receiving of food and non-food products.
-Ensure food costs are within established budget parameters. Manage product storage procedures, standard recipes, and waste control procedures, including checking and maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
-Ensure the kitchen is always fully staffed, cover callouts, and ensure you are available for special events and buffets.
-Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
-Provide orientation on kitchen rules, policies, and procedures and oversee training of new kitchen employees. Provide safety training in first aid, CPR, lifting and carrying objects, and handling hazardous materials.
-Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, logs, reports, and schedules, in an organized and timely manner.
-Ensure all staff follow cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment, and food storage areas.
We seek someone with strong organizational and decision-making skills who works well in a fast-paced setting and communicates clearly and effectively. It would help if you had exceptional hygiene and grooming habits, could work in a standing position for long periods, and could reach, bend, stoop, and lift to 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: 8-hour shifts. Must be available for day & night shifts
Pay: Starting from $21.00, a higher rate is BOE

Cooking: 10 years (Required)
Kitchen Management: 5 years (Required)
